After the events at Wycheweald, the truth about Raedwulf has been established: the woodsman's adopted son carries a terrible curse that forces him to transform into a werewulf under the full moon. Now somewhat older and with more control over his condition, Raedwulf finds himself taken by the wizard Ilmari on a journey alongside his good friend Kay. The destination is wherever a cure might exist, if one does.
