Jack's uncle has offered him a temporary job: look after the fishing pond while the uncle recovers in hospital, collect fees from the fishermen who come to fish. The pay is good and the setting is peaceful — a few days in nature, away from the city. Jack agrees without hesitation. When he arrives, something is not right. The atmosphere around the pond is oppressive in a way he cannot identify. Strange sounds come at night. An unease he cannot shake settles in from the first day, and instead of fading, it grows.
