Castle of Blackwater

Almost a thousand years ago, the legendary explorer Earlwind Axelot discovered Blackwater Castle — a mysterious place that no one built, that appeared as if from nowhere, and that contained the very origin of magic itself. Ever since, the castle has granted the gift of magic to those who survive its challenge and complete its quest. What began as a small community of Earlwind's followers grew over the centuries into a sizable village of scholars and challengers devoted entirely to the castle's study. Every year, people travel from across the world to Blackwater Village — to spend their lives researching the castle's history, and eventually to attempt the quest themselves. From time to time, a group of students forms a temporary alliance and enters together, knowing that failure is permanent.
