Five generations ago, tragedy struck the king of Novilux and a curse descended on the land along with it. When an heir finally stepped forward to rebuild from the wreckage, they faced enemies pressing in from every side — and discovered that what was needed most was the ancient family heirloom: the Clatiulus crystal. With no resources to spare for an official recovery effort, a royal proclamation went out across the land, promising great rewards to anyone who could reclaim it. You are not a soldier. You are not a warrior. You are not even a thief. You are a humble merchant with just enough gold to establish a small encampment within striking distance of the crystal's last known location. What you are missing is allies — people skilled in the ways of combat who are willing to work for a share of the reward.
