William Afton fled through the halls of the old Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, pursued by the ghosts of his victims. He forced himself into the Spring Bonnie costume — the disguise he had worn while committing his crimes — hoping to hide. The springlocks activated. Metal drove through him and sealed him inside the suit. When he lost consciousness, Springtrap was born. He awoke in a decomposing building, his body a pillar of agony, the ghosts gone. The sound of children's laughter pulled him toward the kitchen. He arrived to find nothing — only a swirling black fog filling the far wall. Inside the fog, shapes moved. He didn't need to know who they were. He stepped into the fog, and the hunt began again.
