Ninja Golf
Ninja Golf is an Atari 7800 video game which combines scrolling beat 'em up with golf simulation gameplay. Released in 1990, it later gained some renown for its outlandish subject matter and unique blend of gameplay styles.
The player starts each hole by aiming his ball and shooting it toward the green. He then runs toward the ball, in traditional sidescroller fashion, fighting various enemies encountered along the way. These enemies include other ninjas, gophers, birds, giant mutant frogs, sharks and more.
The enemies faced depend on the environment the ninja golfer is currently in. Sharks are encountered in water hazards, and snakes in the sand traps. Ninjas are encountered in all the environments, including underwater.

A warrior who has spent a decade honing their martial skills faces an unconventional final trial from their enigmatic Master—a fusion of golf and combat known as Ninja Golf. Across nine holes, the trainee must navigate the course while fending off rival ninja warriors and perfecting their swing, earning points through both athletic skill and combat prowess. Along the way, hidden treasures and bonus items scattered across the grounds offer additional opportunities for advancement. Upon completing all nine holes, the player must confront the Master Ninja in disguise for a decisive battle that will either grant them the rank of Master or deny them that honor—with victory potentially even improving their final golf score.
