Griffophone

Released2026
Griffophone is an online multiplayer drawing and party game inspired by Gartic Phone, featuring its own identity with 50+ original game modes that constantly change the way you play. The core gameplay is simple: each player starts by writing a sentence. Another player draws it, then a third player tries to guess what the drawing represents by writing a new sentence. That new sentence is then drawn again, guessed again, and so on. At the end of the game, everyone watches the complete album unfold, revealing how the original idea transformed through each player's interpretation—often with hilarious and unexpected results. Beyond the classic experience, Griffophone offers a huge variety of unique game modes. Some change how you draw (Mirror, One Line, Earthquake, Slippery Brush, Pixel Art, Inverted Controls...), others add visual or color effects (Night Mode, Negative, Kaleidoscope, Black Hole, VHS, Disco...), while several completely reinvent the gameplay with modes such as Exquisite Corpse, Shared Canvas, Duel, Crazy Timer, Blurred Memory, and Free Draw. The game also includes private lobbies with invite codes, an integrated lobby chat, customizable avatars, saved albums, PDF and image export, player statistics, and even a solo mode that lets you try every game mode without waiting for other players. Developed entirely by a solo developer, Griffophone is actively updated with new features, game modes, and quality-of-life improvements based on community feedback. Whether you're playing with friends or discovering new creative challenges, Griffophone delivers a fresh and highly replayable party game experience.

About This Game

In Griffophone, players participate in a collective creative journey where a simple written concept becomes the seed for an ever-shifting chain of interpretation. As notebooks pass between participants, each contributor—whether sketching, reinterpreting drawings, or reimagining the results—gradually transforms the original idea into something wildly different, often producing absurd and surprising outcomes. The mysterious notebooks themselves seem to possess an unpredictable nature, introducing constant rule changes and constraints that force players to adapt their creativity on the fly, from flipped canvases to limited palettes to hidden work. No two rounds unfold the same way; some threads of ideas remain loosely tethered to their origins while others descend into pure imaginative chaos. The appeal lies not in winning or losing, but in experiencing how far a kernel of inspiration can travel when filtered through multiple creative minds, generating laughter and memorable stories in the process.
