A research outpost spanning three planets in the Magna 6 system has gone dark, cutting off all communications after two months of silence. Operating what amounts to the galaxy's most advanced weapons facility alongside a standard research operation, command must now dispatch a handpicked four-person strike team to investigate the unexplained blackout and uncover what has befallen the installation. Placed into cryogenic suspension for the grueling seventeen-month voyage, the team will awaken to discover that something far beyond conventional threats—something unknown to charted space—has stirred at their destination. With no conventional power capable of compromising such a fortified position, the operatives must piece together what catastrophe has unfolded in their absence and survive whatever waits for them in the shadows of Magna 6.
