Years of relative calm in Metro City shatter when Mayor Haggar discovers that the Mad Gear Gang—thought to be completely vanquished—has regrouped and begun orchestrating their vengeful return. The criminal organization escalates their ambitions by kidnapping Genryusai, Guy's martial arts mentor, along with his daughter Rena, forcing Haggar into a desperate global manhunt. Joined by allies Maki and Carlos, the mayor must pursue the gang across continents to rescue the captives and finally dismantle the criminal empire once and for all before it can execute its plans for worldwide domination.
