In 2191, the galaxy teeters toward conflict, held in fragile equilibrium only by the vigilant Inter-Planetary Corps. Crew members Johnson and Stone are aboard the IPCC Miraculous, anticipating a routine return to federation headquarters after six uneasy months patrolling the desolate Intex Network, when they receive unexpected orders to investigate ISRC-4, a remote research station orbiting the red giant Gianor that has gone silent. As their vessel docks at the station's shuttle bay, an unsettling quiet greets them—a silence that suggests something has gone catastrophically wrong.
