Wario's Woods

Released1994
Wario's Woods is a puzzle game similar to Tetris or Columns, but with a twist. Instead of directly controlling the monsters and bombs that are falling down, the player controls Toad who has to carry around stacks of monsters and bombs and to combine them in the right way. One bomb plus at least two monsters of the same color have to be combined to make them disappear. If five or more objects are cleared at the same time, a diamond will appear. Destroying the diamond will clear all monsters of the diamond's color.

About This Game

Once a tranquil sanctuary for forest sprites and woodland creatures, the peaceful woods have fallen under the tyrannical control of Wario and his army of monsters, who have systematically corrupted the idyllic landscape. With the local inhabitants displaced and the forest now bearing Wario's name, Toad ventures into these corrupted lands determined to restore order and confront the villain responsible for the devastation. Armed with bombs created by the grateful sprites, Toad must strategically align explosives with the invading monsters to reclaim each section of forest. As he clears the overrun woodlands, Toad inches closer to a direct confrontation with Wario himself and the chance to end the tyrant's reign of terror.
