About This Game

A Koei-style historical simulation of the Genpei War—the twelfth-century conflict between the Heike and Genji clans that reshaped Japanese society—offering four scenarios spanning the pivotal years from 1180 to 1185. The scenarios cover Yoritomo's rise within the Hōjō, Yoshinaka's seizure of the capital, the strategic situation after the Battle of Ichi-no-tani, and the final clash at Dan-no-ura. The Fujiwara clan remains a wild card throughout, and historical events trigger automatically by date—though skilled players can prevent them. Combat animations and duels are optional, and the player may hand off control to the AI at any time. Victory is achieved by claiming all territory; there is no time limit.
