Wei Jian Tsen inherits a mask split into two halves—one embodying good, one embodying evil—that together grant immeasurable power to whoever unites them. When his second wife Mei Tu falls under the influence of the sorcerous Black Flower Cult, Wei has her executed—an act that drives their son Fang Tu away forever. Wary of the mask's potential for misuse, Wei splits it: one half goes to the Shaolin monk Master Kai, the other stays with Wei—until Fang Tu murders his father and claims his piece. Now Kai charges the player with delivering his half safely to a secret sanctuary, with the ally Wu Ching at their side.
