Sasami has been chosen as a champion by Tsunami, the future queen of Juraihelm, to fight in her name — though the reasons why remain unclear. Powerful forces are working against Sasami and want to see her fail. The challenge is compounded by the fact that Misao, her closest friend, has been chosen as a magical girl by Ramia, Tsunami's rival, putting the two friends on opposing sides of a much larger conflict.
