Abel: Shin Mokushiroku Taisen

Abel: Shin Mokushiroku Taisen

Released1995
Abel is a turn-based Japanese-style RPG set in a dark futuristic environment. The player commands Abel and his teammates from the headquarters, where they can rest, receive items, and prepare for the next mission. The missions themselves take place in large dungeon-like areas. Randomly appearing enemies must be defeated in first-person perspective combat with a rather standard system: characters either attack physically, use items, or execute special attacks that require "special points" (equivalent to magic). There is also an Auto option for battles.

About This Game

In the early 21st century, Earth has reached extraordinary heights of technological progress — and paid for it with environmental damage beyond anything previously imagined. Then disaster strikes: a massive floating fortress appears in Earth's orbit and a force calling itself the Beast Empire begins invading the planet. An entire continent is destroyed. With humanity on the verge of extinction, a special unit enhanced with the latest bio- and technological breakthroughs is deployed. Young soldier Abel leads a group into the field to investigate a site where a previously sent team has vanished without a trace.
