In China during the third century AD, the warlord Liu Bei sets out with his sworn brothers Guan Yu and Zhang Fei to build an army powerful enough to reunify a fractured nation. Their ultimate goal: to claim the imperial title and restore the Han dynasty to its former glory. The campaign unfolds across 64 battles, each with unique victory conditions that must be met within a strict turn limit. Military success requires carefully distributing different types of soldiers and developing tactical plans that exploit each officer's individual strengths. The battles chosen shape the story's direction. In the intervals between combat, Liu Bei can visit settlements to gather intelligence, equip his forces at weapon shops, and consult with his officers to plan the next move.
