Shadow Fighter is a one-on-one fighting game built on a simple premise: defeat every opponent across three rounds to reach the boss waiting at the end. Seventeen characters make up the roster — two accessible only by cheat code — representing fighters from across the world, including one from outer space. Each has a set of special moves triggered by directional combinations paired with button presses, and a training dummy named Pupazz is available for practice, though Pupazz has his own lethal moves and is also unlockable as a full character via cheat. The game tracks first-attack bonuses and combos in the style of Super Street Fighter II, and a togglable blood mode is included. Shadow Fighter himself — both the protagonist and the ultimate boss — is reachable only in Normal or Hard difficulty, with Easy mode ending just before the final fight; he too is playable via cheat. The game runs at a constant 25 frames per second, with a cheat enabling 50fps on AGA Amigas. Amiga Power ranked it the 20th greatest game of all time.
