About This Game

Set between 3044 and 3052, MechWarrior 2: Mercenaries follows a freelance MechWarrior navigating the simmering tensions between the Draconis Combine and the Federated Commonwealth in the years after the War of 3039. Players can accept contracts from four factions — the DC, FC, ComStar, and the Free Rasalhague Republic — playing multiple sides without penalty. Missions range from quashing uprisings and conducting deep recon raids to competing in the gladiatorial BattleMech Games on Solaris. The plot shifts dramatically when the Clans invade the Inner Sphere, pulling the player into major engagements including the Battle of Wolcott and the defense of Luthien, ending with ComStar's forces clashing with the Clans at Tukayyid.
