Deadly Tide

Released1996
Deadly Tide is a pre-rendered shooter in which the player gets to control a deadly new undersea vehicle. The basic plot behind the game is that the aliens have arrived on Earth, and they are not friendly. They take up residence in the oceans of Earth, and begin to launch attacks on shipping. Plus, they are also slowly raising the level of the oceans, trying to flood humans from the planet. Your mission is to stop them. The game is split up into a number of stages, taking place in various locations, the ultimate aim being to make your way through to the end of that level in once piece. There are many cutscenes that advance the story.

About This Game

By 2445, the ocean itself has become enemy territory. A fleet of hostile extraterrestrial beings settled their ship on the Pacific Ocean floor and began raising sea levels — five years of continuous flooding until nearly ninety percent of Earth's surface disappeared beneath the water. The Earth Ocean Alliance's response was the Hydra: a single-pilot submarine fighter engineered for deep-water combat against an enemy that conventional navies cannot touch. With the other pilots gone, one remains. Armed with a Hydra and no backup, the last standing fighter descends into the alien-infested sea — mission by mission — to hold whatever territory is left and eventually take the fight to the source.
