PAL: Shinken Densetsu

Released1997
PAL is in most ways a traditional Japanese-style role-playing game. The player orders each character in battle, choosing attacks, items, and techniques. Equipment upgrades are represented as scrolls, and techniques can be upgraded as they are used. Kaoru's boyfriend, Yukito is also an excellent cook and can learn a wide variety of recipes to create recovery and assist items for use in and out of battle.

About This Game

On a rainy afternoon, a shy girl named Kaoru finds an abandoned puppy in a box near her home. She names him Pal and pours her heart into caring for him. Their bond is cut short when the prophet Nostradamus, who has spent centuries searching for the individual destined to fulfill his predictions, identifies Kaoru as that person — and has her kidnapped. Left alone and powerless, Pal catches the sympathy of the Seven Gods of Luck, who gift him the Fruit of Evolution. He eats it and transforms into a human being. Now walking on two legs and driven by love and loyalty, Pal sets off with Kaoru's boyfriend Yukito and two lesser gods to find Nostradamus and bring Kaoru home.
