Malice for Quake

Released1997
Malice: 23rd Century Ultraconversion for Quake is a commercial mod of Quake. While requiring a full, registered version of Quake, it acts like a stand-alone game, employing its own characters, weapons, environments, rules, etc. The player assumes the role of a mercenary named Damage, who works for the boss of an underground crime syndicate, Colonel Bossman. Damage's main mission is to assassinate the head of Takahiro Industries, Bossman's main rival. To do that, he has to venture into his heavily protected headquarters, dealing with security guards and robots on his way.

About This Game

It is 2230, and the underground crime syndicate B.O.S.S. — run by Colonel Bossman — has a problem: its main rival, the heavily defended Takahiro Industries. Enter Damage, a bandana-wearing mercenary hired to cut through Takahiro's robot security forces and private army before delivering a final strike on Takahiro himself. Built as a total conversion of Quake, Malice drops players into eighteen new futuristic levels filled with fourteen new enemy types, a fresh soundtrack, and a custom arsenal including manually reloadable weapons. The collection of gadgets and tools called Toyz adds another dimension to the mercenary's toolkit.
