Urban Assault

Urban Assault

Released1998
Urban Assault is a 3D real-time strategy game that strongly encourages direct control of the units in a first-person shooter fashion. The strategy part is almost entirely focused on the creation and management of units, with the construction element being limited to power stations and a few other buildings like radars and turrets. The output of a power station, which is used for creating units as well as for protecting and moving the command station, is proportional to the number of territories controlled by the faction.

About This Game

After a chain of ecological disasters left Earth's resources critically depleted, the surviving nations turned on each other. The new world war has produced several distinct factions: the Resistance, a human group fighting for survival; the totalitarian Ghorkovs; the fanatical Taerkastens; and the Black Sect, a splinter organization operating at the conflict's edges. Two alien races — the Mykonians and the Sulgogars — have also arrived, drawn by the same depleted resources driving the human factions. The game follows the Resistance's campaign to control the European and North African territories, fighting on multiple fronts simultaneously.
