About This Game

Eleven months after the '96 King of Fighters tournament, Kyo Kusanagi returns to daily life — briefly. The '97 tournament is approaching, and the months before it are not quiet. The game follows Kyo as he travels from his home in Osaka to Mexico to California, crossing paths with familiar faces from the series in an RPG-style format. The Orochi storyline that defines the KOF lore of this era runs beneath everything, with Kyo's eternal rival Iori Yagami a constant presence and constant complication. Conversations and first-person fights fill the space between the two tournaments.
