About This Game

Voodoo priest and warrior Akuji — voiced by Richard Roundtree — has his heart ripped out on his wedding day and is condemned by voodoo magic to wander the Underworld. His would-be bride Kaisha reaches him in soul form with a revelation: it was his own brother Orad who arranged his murder. Their families are now at war, and Kaisha is marked for sacrifice to the gods. Akuji has no choice but to fight his way out of hell. The loa Baron Samedi offers terms: traverse the Underworld, collect the souls of Akuji's disgraced ancestors — souls the Baron personally despises — and safe passage out will be granted. Each spirit gate is guarded by a warden who must be defeated before Akuji can advance. The living world, and the revenge waiting in it, lies at the far end.
