On October 16, 2000, two months after the Garland Square commercial development opened on the outskirts of London, the anti-British terrorist organization URDA seized the complex. Under the command of Derrick Lynch, the group occupied the department store, office buildings, and surrounding park and took the area hostage. The British government deployed the STF—a dedicated anti-terrorism unit—to retake the site. Crisis Zone is a first-person on-rails shooter designed for arcade play, using a submachine gun peripheral.
