The second Super Robot Wars entry weaves together the events of multiple anime series into a single conflict, anchored by a Banpresto original character whose story connects the various anime plotlines. A consistent design choice across the series: character deaths rarely happen and are often preventable; some enemies can be persuaded to switch sides regardless of what they did in their source series; and the resulting team configurations can include hero pairings that no single source anime would ever allow.
