Before the world's continents separated, a disaster struck and the people prayed for help. New life forms were created in response — but they brought new problems, and were eventually sealed inside disc stones. Centuries later, humans learned the secrets of the disc stones and began unlocking the creatures inside. Ranchers and monsters began to coexist, monster battles became a widely practiced sport, and disc stones have since been found across the entire world. The player takes part in this world of monster ranching and card-based battle.
