The protagonist is in tenth grade at a new private school, parents overseas for the year, and rapidly discovering that the school treats romantic relationships as a serious academic subject. His father has compounded the pressure by threatening to find him a girlfriend personally if he cannot manage it himself. His only contact at the school is a legendarily successful Casanova who specifically chose this institution because it was coeducational. The romance simulation proceeds from these starting conditions.
