Unlike the earlier entries in the Rhapsody series, this collection tells six separate stories, each following different characters from the Marl Kingdom at various points before and after A Musical Adventure and Ballad of the Little Princess. The first chapter catches up with Cornet, Kururu, and Etoile shortly after Ferdinand is turned to stone; they get lost in a forest town inhabited by anthropomorphic mushrooms and help a young girl find her missing mother. The second takes place four years after Ballad of the Little Princess: the now sixteen-year-old Kururu wants to marry Cello, but first must win her father's blessing by claiming the Miss Marl Kingdom title — an outcome strongly implying she and Cello will eventually become the parents of Homard from La Pucelle: Tactics. The third chapter, set at an unspecified point on the series timeline, follows four women searching for the missing Nyankos of the Marjoly Family. The fourth unfolds just before the events of Ballad of the Little Princess, as the Akurjo Family servant Pekonyan — in love with the Marjoly Family's Pokonyan — resolves to assassinate Akurjo herself rather than watch the two families go to war. The fifth and longest chapter, broken into sub-chapters, traces the entire life of Cherie across thousands of years, from the final days of the Ancient civilization through the birth of Cornet and her own death. The sixth is a bonus boss rush that gathers every playable character from all preceding chapters to face the Dark Lord together.
