The criminal Crimson has broken out of prison, and in the chaos that follows, Lambique vanishes without explanation. When Bob and Bobette reach Professor Barabas's laboratory, they find Lambique's hat left inside the time machine. The only lead is a temporal one — and the two friends step in to follow it.
