Detective Pankrác—widely regarded as the world's dumbest—is called upon for his fourth case by renowned scientist Santusov, who fears that someone has been making unauthorized use of his time machine. Rather than confront the problem directly, Santusov builds a second time machine and sends Pankrác through multiple eras of past and future to investigate whether his concerns are justified. The results are, predictably, eventful.
