When the laboratory developing the next generation of METAL SLUGs is attacked and a data disk packed with the project's deepest secrets is stolen, Marco and Tarma of the Peregrine Falcon Strike Force are ordered to recover it and rush off in pursuit. Meanwhile, Eri and Fio of SPARROWS — already investigating a paramilitary group called the Ptolemaic Army that has been raiding historical sites — track the disk to an ancient ruin known as the "Corridor of Fire." Their attempt to storm the site is beaten back by the ruin's natives and giant METAL SLUGs, making it clear that the Ptolemaic Army, whose expertise lies in archaeological excavation and espionage, is behind the theft. The Government Forces mount a second, all-out assault on the Corridor with an elite force, reuniting the four soldiers to retrieve the stolen secrets, destroy the paramilitary group, and uncover the true objective behind the Ptolemaic Army's schemes.
