An anonymous commission directs Lara to retrieve the Osiris Codex from a recently uncovered tomb — an old manuscript identified as the earliest surviving record of ancient Egyptian metallurgy. The deeper significance: Osiris, the Egyptian god of resurrection and eternal life, has always been linked to the practice of alchemy, and whatever is in the Codex may be more than historical record.
