About This Game

Long ago, a sentient weapon called the Gizoid was created by an ancient civilization. Lost for millennia, it was eventually unearthed and studied by Professor Gerald Robotnik, then lay dormant another half-century before being rediscovered — of all people — by Gerald's grandson, Dr. Eggman. Frustrated that he couldn't get the dormant Gizoid working, Eggman dumped it at Emerald Beach, where it was found once more, this time by Sonic the Hedgehog. Sonic names the Gizoid "Emerl," and the robot soon becomes entangled in the affairs of Sonic's friends and rivals alike. Through encounters with Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Cream, Gamma, Rouge, and Shadow, Emerl transforms from a soulless machine into a fun-loving mech that absorbs personality traits from everyone it meets. But while the gang delights in raising their new mechanical friend, others recognize Emerl's true power: now that it works again, Eggman covets it, Rouge wants to mold it into a master thief, and Shadow — despite Sonic's efforts to humanize Emerl — remains convinced it is still a weapon of mass destruction.
