Returning from Egypt with a manuscript she was hired to retrieve, Lara Croft is immediately redirected by her anonymous employer to Tibet. The destination is an ancient unnamed monastery perched high on an escarpment. Her task: secure a priceless vase containing Cinnabar, a substance long associated with life-prolonging preparations. The region carries additional weight — Tibetan folklore places the mythical city of Shangri-La somewhere in these same remote valleys, said to be inhabited by immortals. In Lara's experience, the line between legend and something far more real tends to be considerably thinner than most people assume.
