Tales of Eternia

Released2005
Tales of Eternia is an action japanese role playing game, with real time battle scenes (combos and spells can be assigned to the face buttons). It is a port of the original PS1 game, which was localized as Tales of Destiny II in the US (not to be confused with the Japanese Exclusive title Tales of Destiny 2, an actual sequel to Tales of Destiny) The game is set in the fantasy world of Inferia, follows the story of a young hunter named Reid Hershel and his friends, Farah and Keele, as they meet a mysterious girl who speaks an unknown language. Their subsequent quest to discover her origins leads them across a dimensional boundary to an entirely different realm known as Celestia, where they become involved in an age-old conflict between the two worlds. It would later inspire a 13-episode anime co-produced by Production I.G loosely based on the game's plot.

About This Game

Reid Hershel and his companions are racing to prevent the Grand Fall — a catastrophic collision of twin planets that would destroy both worlds at once. Inferia and Celestia orbit each other, kept apart by an energy field called the Orbus Barrier. For most of their shared history the two worlds have had little contact; the Bridge of Light that once connected them broke long ago, and the Aurora War, fought over two thousand years past, left a lasting mistrust on both sides. Now the Orbus Barrier has begun to weaken, destabilized by an unknown external force. Reid's companion Meredy has crossed over from Celestia to warn them, and what she carries is urgency: if the barrier collapses, both planets die. The journey spans both worlds as Reid works to find who is behind the destabilization and stop it before time runs out.
