In Eberron's creation myth, the dragon siblings Siberys, Khyber, and Eberron fought until Siberys was shattered and Khyber was imprisoned within Eberron's coils; the three broken bodies became the world's layers—surface, ring, and underworld—each producing magical crystals called dragonshards. The largest of these, the Heart of Siberys, crashed onto the continent of Xen'drik and created the storm-ravaged Ring of Storms, whose residual magical energy evolved the local wildlife into the Lizardfolk. Now the Heart draws rival factions—the surface-dwelling Annunkai and the underground Umbragen—into escalating conflict over control of it. Dragonshard is the first video game set in the Eberron D&D campaign setting; its storyline was written by Eberron's creator Keith Baker.
