Magna Carta Portable

Magna Carta Portable

Released2006
This is a handheld port of the Playstation 2 game named Magna Carta: Tears of Blood. However unlike it's PS2 main version, this PSP port was only released in Japan. Magna Carta: Tears of Blood is a Korean-made RPG in Japanese style, and a sequel to Phantom of Avalanche; it is set in the same world and has the same protagonist. The game's combat system is turn-based at core, but requires the player to press buttons in a rapid succession and with precise timing to execute attacks. The characters can store up energy to unleash a stronger attack later. Using the technique named Carta, they can also perform various special moves which are based on elemental affinities.

About This Game

In the land of Efferia, Humans and Yason have been at war for as long as anyone can remember. The two species look similar — Yason have paler skin and differently shaped ears — but the enmity between them runs deep. Calintz leads the Tears of Blood, a mercenary unit working for the Human Alliance on operations the official army cannot or will not handle. His core team includes Azel, a young sword fighter who looks up to him; Eonis, a powerful mage; and Haren, a martial artist. Most of the group carry personal grudges against the Yason, having lost people they cared about to the war. On the Yason side, the elite Blast Worms are commanded by the Four Warriors — soldiers of exceptional power and magical ability.
