The Seven Years' War ended nearly two decades ago. In Neverland, the freelance Contractor Zelos and his crew have been making their way through the aftermath — building reputations, taking work, and staying out of larger conflicts as much as possible. The Elemental Cores are making that harder. Both the Human Genomes and the Original Saints want them, and both are willing to move through anyone in the way. Zelos is not interested in being a piece in someone else's endgame, but the Cores and the factions hunting them keep intersecting with his crew's path in ways that are no longer possible to ignore.
