In 2025, humanity's first contact with two warring alien civilizations—the Machine Empire and the Xenopods—becomes an extinction event. Within weeks, thermonuclear devastation, biological weapons, and orbital strikes obliterate 99 percent of Earth's population, leaving only scattered bands of survivors to hide among the radioactive ruins. When the cosmic war shifts away from the solar system three decades later, it abandons both the remnants of alien forces and the remnants of human civilization on a scorched, lifeless world. Three centuries pass, and Earth has become a barren wasteland where the desperate few eke out existence amid technological debris and alien wreckage. Now, taking command of one of four surviving factions, you must scavenge resources, assemble military forces, and wage conquest against rivals to carve out dominion over this desolate realm and claim rulership of the burned planet.
