Tears to Tiara: Kakan no Daichi

Tears to Tiara: Kakan no Daichi draws its mythology from Welsh, Celtic, Christian, and Roman traditions, filling its Late Antiquity fantasy world with figures named Arawn, Arthur, Epona, Llyr, Morgan, Pwyll, Rhiannon, and Taliesin. The story begins on the western island of Erin, where the Gael tribe's seeress Rhiannon is seized by a rogue Imperial priest named Drwc, who plans to sacrifice her in a ritual to resurrect the Demon King Arawn and earn his favor. As Gael warriors storm the ritual, Arawn is indeed brought back — but he kills Drwc, frees Rhiannon, and declares he has no interest in conquest. Instead he is drawn to Rhiannon's brother Arthur, the tribe's First Warrior. Rhiannon falls for Arawn; her public declaration that she will marry him makes him chieftain of the Gael in place of her late father, since Arthur's warrior role barred him from the title.
