An ordinary morning — childhood friend, good breakfast — until a spacecraft crashes into the office of the Japanese Prime Minister, leaving the ministers in a state too horrible to describe. The alien responsible, unable to manage the resulting chaos, brainwashes every human on the planet on the spot. Overnight, Japan adopts a presidential system. The new president is the protagonist's childhood friend, who happened to be standing nearby when it all happened.
