About This Game

Nine years after the Battle of Forlì, Florence has fallen under the iron grip of the monk Girolamo Savonarola, who rules the city through fear—and through the Apple of Eden he wrested from a gravely wounded Ezio Auditore during the chaos. Arriving in Florence to reclaim the artifact, Ezio meets with Niccolò Machiavelli in the Oltrarno district. Machiavelli tasks him with dismantling Savonarola's power base by eliminating the nine lieutenants who enforce his will across the city. With the last of them dead, the citizens of Florence finally rise up. They storm the Palazzo Pitti and drive Savonarola out into the streets, where the crowd drags him toward a public burning in the Piazza della Signoria. As the Assassins follow the mob to the square, Ezio makes a choice: no one deserves to die like that. He silences Savonarola with his Hidden Blade before the flames reach him, then turns to address the gathered crowd—urging them to chart their own course, and to follow no one else's.
