Tiana dreams of following her mother's path as a famous animal tamer, which makes it hard to explain why she has no animals at all. When a shady market vendor cannot unload four unusual animals, she trades her mother's jewelry for all of them without hesitation. Back home, the animals start behaving strangely — and then they start talking. They claim to be princes from a neighboring country who survived an assassination attempt by being transformed. They want her help.
