An alternate reality in which Battler never came to Rokkenjima and the Golden Witch was never born. A child named Lion is the designated Ushiromiya successor in this version of events, and the island's mysteries played out differently. Bernkastel deploys a new detective — Willard H. Wright — and tasks him with uncovering the truth about Beatrice. The investigation carries Willard through the past experiences of Kinzo and the person whose life eventually became the witch.
