This collection gathers the first three Sly Cooper adventures.
In Sly 1, Sly Cooper — heir to a long line of master thieves who steal only from other criminals — is meant to inherit the family heirloom, the Thievius Raccoonus (a book recording every Cooper's secret techniques), on his eighth birthday. But a gang called the Fiendish Five, led by the clan's arch-nemesis Clockwerk, attacks the household, kills Sly's parents, and scatters the book's pages across the world. Raised in an orphanage, Sly befriends the brainy technician Bentley and the brawny getaway driver Murray, and at sixteen the trio form the Cooper Gang. Two years later, they infiltrate Interpol in Paris to steal the secret police file on the Fiendish Five — evading the dogged Inspector Carmelita Fox, toward whom Sly grows romantically drawn — and use it to track the gang down.
In Sly 2, two years after defeating Clockwerk, Sly breaks into a Cairo museum to destroy the Clockwerk parts for good, only to find them already stolen. Learning that the Klaww Gang took them for their own use, the Cooper Gang sets out to recover the parts one member at a time — shutting down Dimitri's counterfeiting operation in Paris and stealing Clockwerk's wings from Rajan during a lavish ball, then tracking Rajan to a jungle temple to seize both halves of the Clockwerk heart. But as they incapacitate him, the treacherous Neyla frames Carmelita as a Cooper accomplice and has Sly, Murray, and Carmelita arrested.
In Sly 3, set a year later, Sly, Bentley, and Murray attempt to crack the Cooper Vault on Kaine Island, only to be intercepted by its owner, Dr. M, with Sly seized by a monster as his life flashes before his eyes. The story flashes back: to breach Dr. M's fortress and reach the family fortune within the vault, Sly must reunite the Cooper Gang. He first seeks out Murray — who had quit out of guilt over the injury that paralyzed Bentley and become a peace-seeking trainee of the Guru in Venice — and helps clean the city's canals by taking down the mob boss Octavio, whose attack on Bentley enrages Murray enough to defeat Octavio himself and rejoin the team.
