When Oliver's mother dies, his overwhelming sorrow miraculously awakens Drippy, a fairy who introduces him to a shimmering parallel realm on the brink of destruction by the sorcerer Shadar. Oliver learns that souls are mysteriously linked between worlds—and when he discovers a powerful sage in this magical domain who bears an uncanny resemblance to his lost mother, he becomes convinced that rescuing her might somehow restore what he's lost. Accompanied by Drippy and a growing circle of allies, the grieving boy ventures across a breathtaking landscape, using compassion and courage to heal the hearts of those devastated by Shadar's darkness while discovering that the greatest journey is one of personal transformation.
