Mito Aoi lives at a shrine with her childhood friend Sousuke. One afternoon her mother asks them to clean out the storehouse. Among the antiques, they find a silver mirror. Before they can do anything with it, thunder strikes outside — and Aoi is pulled into the mirror. She wakes in 1873, in the Meiji era. The stone she has apparently worn on her wrist her entire life turns out to be something the traveling performers she encounters — a group called Aoiza — have been protecting for generations. The stone found her before they did.
