Baldren arrives on Rainbow Moon the hard way: cursed by his nemesis and dumped into a dimension he has never heard of. To make an already bad day significantly worse, the portal he arrived through is now functioning as an open gate, and waves of monsters are pouring out of it into what was, until recently, a peaceful planet. Baldren's goals are uncomplicated — close the gate, find a way home — but the road between here and there runs through every monster now loose on Rainbow Moon.
