Darkness has consumed the four elemental crystals of Luxendarc, scattering the forces that once protected them. Agnès Oblige, vestal of the Wind Crystal, carries the responsibility of restoring them; Tiz Arrior, sole survivor of a village swallowed by the crystals' blight, joins her out of grief and purpose; Ringabel, an amnesiac with a journal that seems to know too much, walks alongside them for answers; and Edea Lee, a deserter from the army hunting Agnès, finds her loyalties shifting as the true scale of the threat becomes clear. Together they pursue the crystals—and the greater evil that let the darkness take them.
